Shooting Sports and Performance-Enhancing Drugs

Shooting sports are competitive events that involve the assessment of skill using different types of firearms. These include rifle- and pistol-shooting sports, as well as archery (although archery is often placed in a distinct class of shooting sports). Shooting sports require a great deal of concentration and arousal control because of the precision and accuracy requirements. As a result, the use of performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) to accomplish these objectives has been documented throughout the history of these sports.
