Youth and Political Participation
Participating in political life is a powerful learning opportunity for youth. When youth engage in political life, they influence both their own development and the communities around them. This entry first describes some ways in which young people can get involved in politics and then presents two frameworks that support the need to understand youth political participation. Next, it considers some important dimensions of youth political participation, and finally, it outlines some ways in which political participation affects youth and society.
