Connected learning describes a form of learning in which individuals pursue interests with the support of others in ways that support academic or career development, civic engagement, or enjoyment of life. The word connected in learning refers to the ways by which pursuits link youth to peers and mentors and by which interests are linked to academics and careers. Connected learning often involves the use of digital media, because digital media can link individuals to peers who share their interests. Individuals can also use digital media to make or produce original artifacts for outside audiences, a key feature of connected learning.
