Internet Security

The Internet is an information-intensive medium, and although news and non-news information are an instrumental function of Internet usage, there is still a substantial number of individuals who use the Internet solely or mainly for non-information needs (such as entertainment and interpersonal communication). Irrespective of the reason for using the Internet, which was born of academic efforts to share and store information, in the beginning of the 1990s, Internet users at the time did not placed much consideration on the notion of security.
