Indonesia is a large country located in Southeast Asia and shares land borders with three countries: Malaysia, Timor-Leste, and Papua New Guinea. With an estimated 268 million people in 2019, it is the world’s fourth most populous country as well as the most populous Muslim-majority country. According to the International Monetary Fund 2018, Word Bank 2017, and United Nation 2017, Indonesia is the world’s 16th largest economy by nominal GDP.

Indonesia is also known as the world’s largest island country, with more than 16,000 islands—mostly small and uninhabited islands.
