Graphic design is a form of visual communication used to convey a message or an information to a target audience. It is a visual representation of an idea relying on the creation, selection, and organization of design elements. Graphic design is ubiquitous and can be found almost everywhere, from the design of a university’s website, to an ice cream package design, to a mobile app.

In his book, Design, Form, and Chaos, seminal designer Paul Rand (2017) explained graphic design:
