Georgia

A former state of the former Soviet Union located in the South Caucasus, Georgia attained independence in 1991. Georgia is a country with diverse ethnic groups. As a result, two autonomous republics, Abkhazia and Acaristan, and an autonomous region, South Ossetia, are located in the territory of the country.

Having to cooperate with all the countries in the region in order to build an identity as a transit country for both energy and other commodity products, Georgia has struggled with the negative effects of this heritage from time to time.
