Croatia is a Central European country with an area of 88,072 square kilometers and population of 4,270,480 people as of July 2018. The capital of Croatia is Zagreb, with a population of 810,003 residents. Croatia is divided into 21 counties (županije) with 128 towns and 428 municipalities. In 2017, the GDP per capita was estimated to be US$24,700. The official language is Croatian, and 86.3% of the population is Catholic.
