Brazil

Brazil is the largest and most populous country in South America, with a land mass of 8.5 million square kilometers (3.3 million square miles) and nearly 209 million inhabitants. The Portuguese colonized part of what is now Brazil in 1500. Brazil remained a Portuguese colony until 1815, when it was made a kingdom as part of the United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil, and the Algarves, followed by the declaration of Brazil’s independence from Portugal in 1822.

As of 2018, Brazil’s GDP of BRL$1.9 trillion made it one of the 10 largest economies in the world. Brazil is a member of the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa). The National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) regulates and monitors media in Brazil and provides assistance to consumers. ...
