Association for Women in Communications

The Association for Women in Communications (AWC) is an organisation dedicated to advancing the career development of women in communications, preserving freedom of information (particularly in the United States), and honouring women who are making outstanding contributions in the field of communication. AWC is for women in all fields of communications including print and broadcast journalism, television and radio production, film, advertising, public relations, marketing, graphic design, multimedia design, photography, and the new media.

One focus of the organisation is securing pay equity for women. Women journalists in some countries are paid less than men, relegated to covering society, and find getting to management levels challenging.
