A vlog (or video blog) is an online publishing format typically featuring one person addressing an audience through a webcam. The term is a combination of video and weblog, describing both the primary medium of communication and the implied regularity of publishing messages on online platforms for video sharing (e.g., YouTube). Similar to the widely adopted (web) blog format, a vlog can refer to a single, self-authored video message or to an individual’s channel on a sharing platform.

As with blogs, vlogs are frequently updated websites dedicated to a specialized subject presented through one or several individuals (vlogger or vloggers).
