United Press International

United Press International (UPI) is a provider of U.S. and international news, photos, and information, based in Washington, D.C., and Boca Raton, FL. It publishes in English and Spanish. The company’s official website in 2018 claimed its service reached millions of readers around the globe. In 2018, the company appeared primarily to be a business-to-consumer online media operation, whereas during most of the 20th century, it operated principally as a business-to-business news agency providing wholesale services of U.S. and international general, financial, and sports news, as well as audio, video, and photo news services to newspapers, broadcasters, and news agencies around the world.
