Twitter

Twitter is a short messaging and microblogging platform launched in San Francisco in March 2006, which allows its users to transmit dispatches of up to 280 characters. Many organizations now use Twitter as a public relations and publicity tool. The @ sign is used to direct communication at particular account users. As of late 2018, Twitter had 321 million users who are active on the platform every month with an estimated 500 million tweets sent each day. About 78% of Twitter users are based outside the United States. Twitter supports more than 35 languages.
