The term tag cloud refers to textual visualization mechanisms designed to represent a graphical synopsis of social tags, key words, metadata, weighted lists, or even free-form text, usually encountered in websites, but also in other repositories of information. Hence, it is an essential element in managing, documenting, and conceptualizing news information in the 21st-century mass media landscape.
