Saudi Arabia, known officially as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), is located in Western Asia, constituting the bulk of the Arabian Peninsula, on land of approximately 2,150,000 square kilometers (830,000 square miles), with a total population in 2017 of 33 million. Geographically, it is the fifth largest state in Asia and the second largest in the Arab world. With the Red Sea to the west and the Persian Gulf to the east, Saudi Arabia also has land borders with Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Yemen.
