Product placement is a marketing technique whereby a product, brand, or service is incorporated within a media text with the deliberate purpose of promoting it. Product placement is mainly used in audiovisual media texts such as motion pictures, television series and programs, video games, and online videos. However, it may also be found in print media, such as novels and magazines, and, ever more frequently, in social media posts.
