NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists

For over two decades, NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists has worked to promote fair and accurate news coverage of LGBTQ issues and people and has provided a network to LGBTQ journalists. The association holds a unique place in mass media and communications, working to improve the coverage of the LGBTQ community.

Founded as the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA) in August 1990 by the late Leroy (Roy) F. Aarons, NLGJA is, according to its website, a nonprofit organization of journalists, media professionals, educators, and students working from within the news industry to foster fair and accurate coverage of LGBTQ issues.
