Neurodiverse Websites

Neurodiverse websites are Internet-based resources that provide information about neurodiversity and neurodiversity principles. Neurodiversity refers to the diversity of human brains and the infinite variation and combination of neurocognitive sensors and wiring of the human nervous system. Neurodiversity principles intend to guide the way society looks at neurological differences, arguing that neurological conditions, disorders, and impairments (e.g., autism, Asperger’s syndrome, dyslexia, dyspraxia, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder) are to be recognized as normal and natural variations in the human genome and in our psychoneuro-endocrinology system. The concept of neurodiversity at its core is the idea of equal worth and respect for neurological diversity. After explaining the concept of neurodiversity in greater detail, this entry discusses the neurodiversity movement and how websites support the principles of neurodiversity.
