Myspace

Myspace, originally styled as MySpace, is a social networking site founded in 2003. Music is and always was a central component of this site, although it also features news, videos, and people profiles as well. Myspace was also enormously influential in the development of online photo-, music-, and video-sharing as well as online games. This social networking site once was the most popular site of its kind. This entry provides an overview of the origins and development of Myspace, then explores reasons for its short-lived success and eventual decline.
