Multimedia refers to the multimodal presentation of information through the exploitation of many different media, such as text, images, animations, audio, and video, using various user interfaces and human–machine interaction (HMI) mechanisms. It enables users to communicate with machines (and with each other) through the combination of textual and audiovisual information, in a variety of versatile interaction scenarios. This kind of mediated communication is close to the archetypal audiovisual presentation and perception of information through which human beings are accustomed to being taught and informed and through which they discuss, debate, learn, and generally communicate, so multimedia are considered to be more informative and vivid compared to other documents.
