The miracle question is a technique created by Steve de Shazer and Insoo Kim Berg from a solution-focused brief therapy approach. The miracle question is designed to help people focus on what they want (rather than what they do not want) in order to help clients and clinicians create goals and focus on solutions, rather than focusing on problems. This technique helps the client imagine a world in which the problems they are seeking help for do not exist.
