Mindfulness
In today’s fast-paced society, busyness and stress have become the norm. The result is an increase in reactivity and disconnection within the family and within society in general. Over the past 20 years, mindfulness practices have become popular in the West as a way to address the uncertainty, stress, and disconnection of our daily lives. Mindfulness is defined as the intentional awareness of the present moment with acceptance of whatever arises, within our own minds, or in the surrounding environment. By lessening our resistance to what is happening in the moment, mindfulness helps us to find peace with how life is.
