Home-Based Therapy

Home-based therapy is a treatment modality offered to individuals and families that uses the client’s home as the therapeutic setting instead of a traditional office environment. There are many benefits to providing therapy and counseling services in the home. For the clients, home-based approaches offer support, services, skills building, and practical experiences in the home setting. As an alternative to working with an individual or family in an office, home-based therapy is more natural, cost-efficient, and effective. Clients may experience their home as a comfortable, familiar, or safe space. Home-based therapy can remove barriers and allow the client(s) to meet the clinician on the client’s territory.
