Delphi Research Method
The Delphi research method is used to better understand a topic by building a consensus of thought from people considered to be most knowledgeable about it. The method was introduced in the 1950s by the RAND Corporation as a forecasting tool, and has been used and modified in numerous research applications since that time. Though Delphi methodology has not historically played a significant role in marriage and family therapy research, there is ongoing interest in this technique to better appreciate and define existing concepts in the field, as well as to build a sense of future direction.
