Adult Attachment Assessments
Attachment theory, the study of the importance of a secure bond to loved ones, originally focused on the bond between parents and children. Later the theory of attachment was used to study adult relationships. An increased interest in the study of adult attachment has led to numerous studies over the past 20 years. These studies have explored different attachment styles and how each of these attachment styles shapes individuals’ behavior in different relationships. Given the increased interest in adult attachment assessments, a series of measures have been developed and revised.
