Coaching

Most people think of sports when they hear the word coach. A popular image of an athletic coach brings to mind a person with in-depth knowledge of a particular sport, good strategies for working with and motivating athletes, and the ability to try different approaches for athletic success. This type of coach can serve as a good reference point when thinking about coaching in other contexts.

Coaching defined more broadly is a focused approach or strategy in which coaches support people (sometimes referred to as coachees) as they learn new information, gain skills, make life transitions, and set and achieve goals.
