Advertising

Advertise, derived from the Latin advertere, or “to turn toward,” is mainly used in the context of describing or drawing attention to a product, service, or event. It is to make something known for others to see—and often for them to be enticed to purchase some product or attend some event. Advertising refers to the activity or profession of producing “advertisements” for commercial products or services and so is deeply entrenched in marketing, public relations, and applied behavioral psychology.
