Adult Day Services

Adult day services (ADS) refers to community-based day programs for adults with varied physical, cognitive, and health care needs, including dementia and intellectual disabilities. ADS programs benefit the ADS participant, who is engaged in social, cognitive, and physical activities, as well as the participant’s family, who are given a break from the daily stressors of care. Different models of ADS target participants and their families in different ways; however, all belong to a continuum of care that allows participants to remain at home for as long as possible without overburdening their families.
