World Professional Association for Transgender Health

The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) is a professional membership organization with an international, interdisciplinary membership comprised mostly of mental health professionals with varying types of advanced degrees and licenses (e.g., MD, PhD, MS, MA, MSW, LMFT, LCSW). Medical doctors with varying specialties, such as primary care physicians, plastic surgeons, endocrinologists, urologists, obstetricians, and gynecologists compose the next largest percentage of members. Legal professionals and social science researchers whose work impacts the lives of transgender people also qualify as members. Graduate students may apply for student membership, with a professional member as a sponsor.
