Sex Therapy

According to the Mayo Clinic, sex therapy is a form of psychotherapy addressing clients’ issues of sexual intimacy and performance. Regardless of sexual orientation, age, or other personal characteristics, many individuals experiencing psychological issues affecting performance and intimacy in relationships can benefit from sex therapy. In turn, sex therapy can be a potentially transformative experience for LGBTQ individuals and/or people in their relationships seeking information and support.

Sex therapists who work with the LGBTQ community must be open in communication; nonrestrictive in approach; and adaptive to the many different emotional, social, and psychological needs of their clients.
