Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE)

Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE) is the first and largest organization in the United States dedicated to improving the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) older adults. Originally founded in 1978 under the name Senior Action in a Gay Environment, SAGE is headquartered in New York City and has offices in Washington, D.C.; Chicago; and Los Angeles, as well as a network of affiliated sites across the United States. As noted on its website, the SAGE stated mission is as follows:
