Empathy is a process that allows people to imaginatively enter the world of another person, see it from the other person’s point of view, and feel the emotions the other person is experiencing. Through the empathic process, individuals are able to predict, with varying degrees of accuracy, what another human being is thinking and to vicariously experience, with some degree of approximation, what another person is feeling.
