Support Groups for Families of Children With Developmental Disabilities

Children with developmental disabilities have unique needs, and their day-to-day functioning looks markedly different from that of their typically developing peers. As such, the families and caregivers of children with developmental disabilities are faced with unique challenges in managing and nurturing the health, safety, education, and development of their loved ones in balance with self-care and the needs of the rest of the family. Support groups are often an effective intervention for families, caregivers, and siblings of these children.
