Occupational Health Psychology

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 4,405 workplace fatalities and more than 3 million injuries occurred in the United States in 2013. Estimates from the World Health Organization (WHO) show that occupational injuries are a concern throughout the world. The WHO reports that there are approximately 268 million nonfatal workplace accidents each year, causing more than 3 days of lost work, and roughly 160 million new cases of work-related illness. These occupational illnesses include but are not limited to musculoskeletal, respiratory, and circulatory diseases.
