The Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) is the primary professional organization for individuals working in the human factors domain. As a discipline, human factors aims to improve human performance through effective design of computers, machines, and complex systems. The overarching goals of HFES are to facilitate the exchange of knowledge regarding human–system interaction, to build professional relationships among its over 4,500 members, to advocate for human factors consideration in the design of systems, and to oversee human factors educational programs.
