Practicing in the field of industrial and organizational (I-O) psychology provides one an excellent opportunity to positively impact organizations and society. Having completed one’s formal education and secured or created a position within industry, consulting, or government, the practitioner’s focus shifts to helping individuals and organizations succeed. Having strong competence in I-O psychology subject areas and ethical practice principles is paramount to being a successful practitioner. Typically, this is achieved largely through the rigorous requirements of completing a master’s or doctoral degree in I-O psychology or a related field.
