The ROWE (Results-Only Work Environment) initiative was created by Cali Ressler and Jody Thompson in the human resources department of Best Buy. One of the primary goals of ROWE is to increase employees’ control over when, where, and how work is done, in order to promote creativity and productivity. The motto of ROWE is “Work whenever you want, wherever you want, as long as the work gets done.”

Rather than creating one specific type of flexible work arrangement for all employees, ROWE allows each employee to be in charge of his or her own work schedule.
