Applied Linguistics

Applied linguistics can be defined as the umbrella term for fields that study language in relation to real-world issues, especially with a focus on solving language-related problems. However, the fields that are considered part of this category change regularly and are open to debate to the extent that several articles have been written about these changing definitions and the relationship of the field to practice versus theory.
