All interventionists who work with people with aphasia (PWA) and their families to ameliorate the effects of communicative disability and offer therapy services should operate within an evidence-based practice (EBP) framework. Consequently, treatment plans are based on an appreciation of the scientific literature and the clinical judgment of rehabilitation specialist. Moreover, regardless of the approach or approaches to therapy that inform the care provided in a given case, all decisions about the type and logistics of intervention should be made in consultation with clients and their families.
