Speech Tracking
Auditory training is any activity geared toward optimizing speech understanding through the use of residual hearing, whether aided (through the use of hearing aids or cochlear implants) or unaided (without the use of hearing aids or cochlear implants). Speech tracking, also known as continuous discourse tracking, is a method used in auditory training. This method involves two people, with one person acting as the speaker and the other person acting as the receiver. The speaker then reads a segment (i.e., phrase or sentence) of material (e.g., book, newspaper, magazine) to the receiver, and the receiver repeats back what is heard.
