Psycholinguistics

Psycholinguistics is the use of psychology to understand linguistics. It is an intriguing area of study because it investigates how language becomes a tool for cognitive functions such as thinking, problem solving, and remembering. It is also a major area of research in neurolinguistics that studies brain functioning and language. Psycholinguistics is important for human communication sciences and disorders because it connects psychological functioning and brain behavior, linguistics, and the communicative use of language in special populations.
