Psychiatric Disorders With Communication Disorders

Psychiatric disorder, mental illness, mental disorder, and psychological disorder generally refer to a pattern of behavioral and/or psychological symptoms that cause distress to an individual and significantly impact on their usual functioning or activity. Psychiatric disorders are common and are considered to affect about a third of the world’s adult population, with subsequent high rates of disability. Psychiatric disorders are less well understood in developing countries, where religious and cultural beliefs can influence how psychiatric disorders are understood and managed.
