Modified Diet

There have been several attempts to standardize the definitions of a modified diet, ranging from no restrictions, to severe restrictions, and everything in between. One of the most frequent complaints about any modification to a patient’s diet is that each individual Speech–Language pathologist (SLP) may have his or her own definition of what any specific adjustment is (i.e., honey-thick liquid may mean one thing to one SLP and a different thing to another).
