Feminist Policy Analysis

From property ownership, suffrage, marriage and divorce, reproductive rights, child custody, citizenship, to employment and education, feminist policy analysis has influenced outcomes related to a range of topics. Broadly, feminist policy analysis refers to the study of policy and policy processes grounded in the following premises: (a) Sex and gender have served, and continue to serve, as organizing principles of society. (b) Gender inequity is not natural or inevitable but socially constructed and often reified through policy. (c) These inequities are harmful to individuals and society and can be changed. And, (d) Policy is one mechanism for change-making toward a more equitable and inclusive society.
