Education Abroad

Education abroad has been defined as “an academically focused activity that is part of a prescribed curriculum that supports elective classes or classes that are part of a certificate or degree” (Raby & Malveaux, 2019, p. xx). The field of education abroad spans countries throughout the world in both receiving and sending modes. Higher education institutions (HEIs), including universities, community colleges, colleges of further education, polytechnics, and technical–vocational–education and training colleges, use many terms to define the types of programs and processes in which students study in another country.
