Centers Focused on Equity and Inclusion

Centers focused on equity and inclusion can be defined as institutionalized and established offices and/or resources that may involve a physical space and are focused on diversity, equity, and/or inclusion for minoritized populations in higher education. The centers house various activities, programs, and initiatives, and typically have administrative guidance, including staff, administrators, and/or students charged with oversight of the center’s programming and advocacy. Center missions typically include a three-pronged approach to equity and inclusion work stating that they provide social and academic support to, advocacy for, and education about one or more minoritized populations.
