World Education Research Association

The World Education Research Association (WERA) is a nonprofit organization made up of national, regional, and international specialty research associations, individual educational researchers, and institutions that are focused on educational research. The official founding celebration of WERA took place in Vienna, Austria, in the context of the European Conference of Educational Research 2009—after a negotiation and preparation phase that began in Geneva in 2006. As of 2019, WERA unites educational researchers around the world whose purpose is to advance education research as a scientific and scholarly field. WERA is made up of 28 national or regional educational research associations, together with an increasing number of individual members and other partners, such as data processing centers.
