Newton Fund

The Newton Fund works with a range of organisations that represent the science, research, and innovation community in the UK and in 17 active partner countries to build economic and social welfare development. Started in 2014, the Newton Fund will have had a total allocation of £735 million from the UK government through to 2021; it is part of the UK’s official development assistance (ODA). Partner countries provide resources to match the funding provided by the Newton Fund. The primary aim of the fund is to strengthen the capacity of science and innovation that address the needs of the country partners.
