NAFSA: Association of International Educators is the world’s largest professional association focused on international higher education. NAFSA was founded in 1948 as the National Association of Foreign Student Advisors when the number of international students and scholars coming to the United States began to increase after World War II. The scope and mission of NAFSA have broadened over the years to support the growth of international education and exchange and the professionals who work in the field of international higher education. NAFSA changed its name to NAFSA: Association of International Educators in 1990 to reflect this expansion.
