Teaching Approaches

The term teaching approaches refers to the variety of ways teachers engage students in learning and includes various aspects of teaching practice. A teaching approach can also be thought of as the theory a teacher integrates into classroom practice; the teacher implements actions, strategies, or practices to create learning opportunities for students. The term teaching approaches is sometimes used interchangeably with other terms such as pedagogy, teaching perspectives, and teaching strategies.
